Family Psychology Mutual, www.fpmcic.com is a relatively new and expanding social enterprise (spun out of Cambridgeshire County Council) based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The company is owned by its’ members who each hold a single nominal share. FPM, in collaboration with Bridges Fund Management has been contracted by Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council to deliver evidence based, therapeutic family services for young people at risk of care entry. The Norfolk service delivers Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare with staff based in Norwich, Kings Lynn and Dereham. The Suffolk service delivers FFT standard with staff based in Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds. Both services are embedded with the social care teams and are funded by social impact bonds. The Positive Families Partnership delivers FFT and MST in two clusters of London Boroughs (10 presently) with the FFT services delivered by FPM. There is a Youth Endowment Fund funded project in Redbridge for young people at risk of criminal exploitation. You will help to grow and sustain the business as we develop our business plan.
We are seeking a dynamic, commercially aware accountant to the lead the financial and commercial services for FPM and to ensure that contracts are delivered and that relationships with investors and partners are strong. You will contribute to the assurance of key performance metrics for the service at board level. You will represent the company as necessary with commissioners and partners and deputise for the Joint CEO as required. A key part of the leadership team you will take on our daily and management accounts which will be drawn in house. You will also prepare the Annual Report and Accounts, providing a hands-on approach to the finance and commercial operations and delivering the business plan. Family Psychology Mutual is funded by the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) to trial Functional Family Therapy (Gangs) in collaboration with the London Borough of Redbridge. This is the first team to be established outside of the USA working with young people at risk of gang involvement and exploitation, usually aged 10-14. The project is subject to an independent evaluation led by Greenwich University.
Business Support Officer (data and research focus)
We are seeking a motivated and driven Business Support Officer to join our small team embedded within Redbridge Council, to provide management information and team administration support to the FFT-G therapeutic team in addition to working collaboratively with the research team at University of Greenwich. The BSO role provides a central point of contact for the Families are Forever Team who provide home-based family therapy sessions with young people and their families using the Functional Family Therapy (Gangs) intervention model. The role will also work closely with the team manager to ensure data from multiple sources is captured, analysed and reported accurately.
The FFT Business Support Officer will be supervised by the FFT Team Manager in addition to a line of accountability to the FPM Operations Director for professional support, ongoing training and performance management. The post is grant funded by the Youth Endowment Fund with anticipated extension for a full trial. You will work with the team but also be comfortable working independently and flexibly as required. Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare Worker
We are continuing to expand our successful FFT service in Norfolk. Therefore we are seeking an experienced and professional individual (social work, mental health nursing, psychology, family therapist) to join an established Functional Family Therapy Service in Norfolk. The team deliver Functional Family Therapy – Child Welfare (FFT-CW); an adaptation of the manualised FFT model for families in which child abuse and neglect is present. FFT -CW is a licenced, evidence-based programme with a strong track record. This is the second such service in the UK, so this is an exciting development for clinical practice. This is an outcomes-based contract for children 8-16 at risk of care entry (using a social impact bond structure), working to prevent children and young people entering care. We also work with a smaller cohort of young people who have entered care, for whom the service will manage a return home using the FFT-CW intervention. With therapeutic experience and knowledge of systemic formulations. you may already be on the journey towards accreditation as a family therapist or systemic practitioner (in which case we may help to support your training) or you may already be qualified. You will be joining a highly skilled, motivated team, currently growing, which will eventually comprise 6 Therapists and two Supervisors. The team has been operational since March 2019 covering the County and is embedded into the Social Care across the region. Working with the FFT UK Consultant, you will follow a structured pathway of continuous professional development in FFT-CW and family therapy practice. You will achieve fidelity to the therapeutic model through consultation, coaching and training supported by the Supervisor and FFT UK Consultant. You will take referrals from Norfolk Children’s Social Care and establish effective working relationships with both Social Care and partner agencies to achieve outcomes for families. Programme/ Operations Manager - Functional Family Therapy Child Welfare Team
We are seeking an experienced Programme/Operations Manager to deliver the Stronger Families Programme in Norfolk as we enter year two of the contract. Funded by a Social Impact Bond the service provides the evidence based intervention Functional Family Therapy-Child Welfare with a licenced team of staff across Norfolk with a clear outcomes framework. You will take strategic and operational management oversight of the delivery of the contract working in collaboration with the Commissioner, Children’s Social Care and our investment partner, Bridges Fund Management. You will support the two clinical supervisors as they deliver the therapeutic services and ensure that referral flows are working so as to facilitate the optimal conditions for the services to achieve the contractual outcomes. You will assure the reporting of key performance indicators and metrics on a weekly, monthly and quarterly cycle to inform decision making and assurance at Board level. You will expect to attain a reasonable understanding of the model to guide and support the team in the implementation of the intervention but will not be clinically responsible. Strategically aware, diplomatic and orientated to problem solving you will confidently build relationships with the team, stakeholders and board members alike.. Your strong analytic and communication skills will support your ability to lead and manage complexity. Functional Family Therapy Worker
We are looking for a suitably qualified professional to join our existing Functional Family Therapy (FFT) team in London. The team has been operational since February 2018 and is achieving good outcomes for young people within an outcome-based contract.
Positive Families Partnership (PFP) is an innovative 3-year programme providing FFT and Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST) to families in 10 London boroughs. The partnership is made up of an exciting consortium of different provider organisations and a social investor company. You will join the East London team, which covers 5 Boroughs: Haringey, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Barking and Dagenham, and Bexley. The team consists of a full-time supervisor and 3 FFT workers. Weekly group supervision is held jointly with the South West London FFT team, consisting of one supervisor and 2 FFT workers.

The FFT worker role is to provide home-based family therapy sessions with young people and their families using the FFT model. Referrals are made by participating Boroughs for families with young people between the ages of 10 and 17, who are at risk of care or custody because of complex behavioural problems.
The FFT worker in this post will be required to carry a caseload of 7 families, providing services in family homes or in the community for a period of 8 to 26 weeks. The FFT worker will be trained, coached and supervised in accordance with the FFT model by the FFT national consultant and the FFT supervisor based in East London. This post offers considerable practice development opportunities. FFT is a licensed intervention and adherence to the model is quality assured (www.fftllc.com).
This position requires out-of-hours and flexible working to meet families when they are available. Appreciation of the local demography and culture will be valuable. We firmly believe that it makes good business sense to have a workforce representative of the communities we serve and so encourage applications from all sections of the community.
The FFT team is located in a Family Action building in Hackney Wick, which is shared with the MST team. Sessions are carried out in the family’s home environment, in the community or remotely. We have achieved considerable success in delivering therapy remotely during the COVID-19 lockdown and we continue to support homeworking alongside community-based visits, depending on service user need and COVID-19 risk management. Working hours can vary. Some late evening sessions may be required depending on the availability of families. The post holder will be travelling in their allocated Boroughs for clinical work. The team regularly comes together for group supervision as well as business and professional meetings.
